APC-4 Rail Shoulder | Railway Fasteners

The APC-4 rail shoulder (also known as the ARS-4 railway anchor) is a core component of the Russian boltless anchor rail fastening system. It is a "cast-in" anchor semi-embedded directly into concrete sleepers during manufacturing.

Primary Functions

Rail Stability: APC-4 Shoulder provides a fixed anchoring point for elastic rail clips, preventing longitudinal and lateral rail displacement.

Load Distribution: The shoulder evenly distributes vertical and horizontal impact forces from the train to the concrete sleeper and ballast bed.

Track Gauge Maintenance: APC-4 Shoulder works with gauge blocks and insulating gaskets to ensure stable track geometry under heavy dynamic loads. 

Technical Specifications

Material: High-strength ductile iron (grades such as QT400-15, QT450-10, or QT500-7).

Tensile Strength: ≥450MPa.

Hardness: 160–210 HBW.

Applicable Rails: Primarily used for heavy-duty R65 and R75 rail profiles (standard in Russian/GOST regions).

Design: A boltless, frame-arch type anchor that eliminates risks associated with bolt corrosion or loosening.

Heavy-Haul Freight: Designed to withstand the massive fatigue loads of freight lines transporting coal or ore.

Electrified Mainlines: Often integrated with insulating components to meet the requirements of electrified railway sections.

Extreme Environments: Built to operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -60℃ to +60℃, making it suitable for cold-climate infrastructure.
