The ARS-04 rail anchor (often denoted as ARS-4) is a high-performance, boltless elastic rail fastening system primarily used on heavy-duty and high-speed broad-gauge tracks. ARS-04 anchor is a Russian-standard design specifically engineered to minimize track maintenance by eliminating threaded joints that can loosen under vibration.
Core Components
The system is modular, allowing for the individual replacement of damaged parts during maintenance. A standard ARS-04 assembly includes:
ARS-04 Rail Anchor (Shoulder): A cast-in part made of ductile iron (e.g., QT500-7) embedded directly into the concrete sleeper during manufacture. It weighs approximately 4.6 kg.
ARS-04 Rail Clip: A "W-shaped" elastic clip made of high-quality spring steel (like 60Si2MnA) that provides a clamping force of 12–14 kN.
Monoregulator: A component used for adjusting the position of the clip and managing tension.
Insulating Components: Specialized corners and gaskets that provide electrical insulation, essential for electrified lines and signal systems.
Technical Performance
Key Advantages
Boltless Design: Eliminates the need for regular torque checks and threading maintenance.
High Insulation: Offers superior performance on electrified tracks compared to older systems like the KB-65.
Adjustability: Features flexible adjustment functions for precise gauge maintenance, particularly useful in curved sections or switch zones.
Fatigue Resistance: Built to handle the extreme stress of heavy-load freight traffic and high-speed rail without degradation.
Signum Rail Fastening is able to offer rail anchors and rail shoulders according to the client’s requirements.
