Ss36 screw spikes of Signum Railway are made of high-quality steel. They have excellent performance on strength, toughness and corrosion resistance. Ss36 screw spikes are popular and belong to Ss series screw spikes. Ss Screw Spikes are essential components used in railway construction to securely fasten rails to the railway ties or sleepers.
Signum Railway Fasteners are able to offer screw spikes with various thread profiles, lengths, diameters and drive heads, which allow them to suit specific geographic requirements. These Ss36 Rail Screw Spikes are designed for securing railway tracks to sleepers. In some areas and conutires, screw Spikes Ss36 are use with Uls7 Washers. As shown below:
Type: Ss36 Railway Screw Spike
Shank Diameter: 24mm
Length (L): Varies from 150mm to 270mm
Material: Q235, 35#, 45#, or other carbon steel
Grade: 5.6 or 8.8, higher grades are also available
Head Style: Square
Surface Finish: Plain oiled, oxide black, zinc plated, hot-dip galvanized, or Dacromet
Standards: AREMA, UIC, or ASTM
Raw Material Selection:The process begins with high-quality carbon steel rods or wire, such as Q235,35#,45# etc.
Wire Drawing: The steel rod is drawn through a die to reduce its diameter to the required size for the spike's shank.
Cutting Raw Steel Bars to Length:The wire is cut into precise lengths, with each piece being a blank for a single screw spike.
Head Forming(forging the head):The cut rod is placed in a heading machine that forges or forms the head of the screw spike, typically by cold heading or hot forging.
Edge Trimming: Any excess material or flash is removed from the head.
Thread Rolling:The shank is then threaded. This is often done using a three-roll mill, which rolls the threads onto the shank in a process called thread rolling.
Heat Treatment: The spikes are subjected to heat treatment processes for strength and durability.
Surface Treatment: An anti-corrosion coating is applied to protect the spike from environmental factors. Common methods include hot-dip galvanizing, electro-galvanizing, hot waxed or other special coatings.
Final Inspection: Each spike is inspected to ensure it meets the required specifications for dimensional accuracy, material properties, and surface quality
Packing and Shipment: The finished spikes are then packaged, often in pallets or barrels, and shipped to customers.
Screw spikes Ss36 are manufactured in strict accordance with industrial standards in Signum Railway Fasteners. The production process begins with carefully selected high-strength steel bars and includes thread rolling, head forming, debarring, and precision heat treatment to ensure uniform and stable mechanical properties of the spikes. The spikes undergo rigorous testing for hardness, dimensions, and load-bearing capacity, ensuring that each batch complies with UIC, AREMA, and BS international railway standards. In short, we are able to offer screw spikes according to clients’ requirements or drawings with competitive price.
