How the E2000 System Works

The E2000, developed as part of the established Pandrol "e-Clip" series, functions by securing the rail foot through a threadless, self-tensioning mechanism.

• Design: E2000 clip resembles a sideways letter "E" and is manufactured from high-strength spring steel.

• Clamping Force: E2000 clip generates a high nominal toe load (frequently reaching up to 1,250 kgf).

• Anti-Creep: The clip's design generates the necessary clamping force to resist rail creep and twisting, making it highly effective on continuously welded tracks.

Primary Components of the System

A typical E2000 fastening assembly consists of the following elements:

• Two E2000 Rail Clips: The primary elastic elements that hold the rail. 

• Rail Shoulders: Cast-iron or ductile-iron components, which are embedded in the concrete sleeper or base plate, to hold the clip in place. 

• Rail Pad: An elastic pad positioned under the rail to absorb vertical pressure, dampen noise, and reduce track wear. 

• Rail Insulators: Placed between the clip and the rail, these components maintain track gauge electrically and prevent direct metal-on-metal contact.
