The Pandrol E-Clip system is a standard Pandrol system where the track is fastened using E-clip (Ø 18 for tram track or Ø 20 for train track) and insulators.
A simple, reliable and globally used system
For all ballasted track types, and for switches and crossings
Durable: system has a long life cycle
No need to check the tension of the fastener due to its own tensioning force
Minimal risk of corrosion
Installation directly onto concrete sleepers or in combination with base plates
Kunshan Signum Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. Specializes in manufacturing rail clips according to ISO, DIN, GB, IFI, B.S. ART. standards and our customer's specific requirements. This includes custom Dia, material, grade and finish.
The Pandrol e-Clip is a globally recognized, threadless elastic rail fastening system made of high-grade spring steel designed to permanently clamp rails to sleepers. Unlike the rigid, bolted KPO clamp system previously discussed, the Pandrol e-Clip operates as a self-tensioning, "fit-and-forget" system driven parallel to the rail foot to eliminate maintenance associated with stripped or corroded threads.
An e-Clip fastening assembly requires specific, interlocking parts to secure the rail and absorb track energy:
e-Clips: The stubby, paperclip-shaped elastic spring components that generate the physical clamping force.
Rail Shoulders: Cast-iron anchors embedded into concrete sleepers or welded to tie plates that securely hold the clip housing.
Rail Pad: Elastic rubber or plastic sheets placed beneath the rail foot to absorb high vibration, dampen noise, and distribute axle loads.
Rail Insulators: Reinforced nylon pieces placed on the rail edge to provide electrical insulation for signaling systems and maintain proper gauge alignment.
The Pandrol E-clip fastening system scales according to load requirements, relying on precise material engineering to withstand extreme operational fatigue:
Material Composition: 60Si2MnA or high-tensile spring steel.
Clamping & Toe Load: from 900 kgf to 1250 kgf per clip (yielding overall assembly clamping forces >16 kN to >18 kN).
Working Deflection: Features a structural flexibility of 10 mm to 14 mm to compensate for manufacturing and track variances under load.
Fatigue Life: Capable of enduring 3 to 5 million cycles without structural failure or cracking.
e1809 Clip: Widely adapted for light urban/metro transit configurations across parts of Asia.
e2055 / e2052 Clip: Heavy-haul variants deployed heavily throughout the USA, South America, and regional freight corridors.
eAT2000 Clip: An anti-theft variant sporting an internal interlocking center notch to prevent unauthorized tool-less clip removal.
